Well this was a visit to Lion Central, they were right in our faces. The wildebeest and zebra herds were there too but I gather that we had missed their peak by a couple of weeks. The Grumeti River was not running and is a far smaller than the Mara and only had scattered stagnant, albeit substantial, pools. These had huge crocs but I cannot imagine the herd crossings here to be as spectacular as at the Mara River.
